There is many scenarios for which it is best to try to keep a maximum of anonymity in the performance of certain trade negotiations for example.
The shareholders of a company doesn't always want to appear as such for various honorable reasons.

Indeed, it is currently the only structure that still allows the use of bearers instead of registered shares. During the drafting of the statutes of a limited company, it's usual to determine the nature of the shares of this company. Here is how it's usually defined :
Article 3
The share capital is set at thirty-one thousand euro (€ 31,000 -) represented by three hundred ten (310) shares with a nominal value of one hundred Euros (€ 100, -) per share.
Shares may be registered shares or bearer shares.
The company shares can be created at the choice of the owner in unit securities or securities representing several shares.
To establish the company, it's possible to use a representative whom will make the constitution of your behalf. The advantage is that you don't appear in the publication in the Memorial.
Otherwise, the second solution is to buy an existent company.

Following a law introduced on the 28/07/2014, it's now necessary to remain the bearer shares by an authorized depositary as an accountant, a lawyer, a bank etc...
The companies that have adopted this form have 6 months to comply with this and carry out a publication at the Commercial Registry to inform of the change. This modification tends to suggest that in the very near future, Luxembourg will definitevely give up the anonymity granted to the beneficial owners. It will then go through a new intermediate structure, which would have the domicile abroad.
On the side of Accounts...
Unfortunately, on that side, anonymity is no more available. Indeed, for any signatory it will be necessary to complete a specific tesnparency conditions on the economic beneficiaries.
